RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chair, Board of Supervisors, to execute the Amendment No. 9, to Agreement No. 86 with Contra Costa Transportation Authority to increase the maximum compensation paid to the County by $64,000 to a total of $666,000, effective December 13, 2011, as recommended by the Public Works Director, East County area. (Contra Costa Transportation Authority Funds)

FISCAL IMPACT:

CCTA will pay the actual costs of right of way services performed by Real Property.

BACKGROUND:

CCTA requires a variety of right of way services but has no right of way staff and has contracted with the County for these services. On August 1, 1998 the Board approved the original agreement No. 86 for the State Route 4 Bailey Road to Railroad Avenue Widening project for right of way acquisition services. The parties now wish to modify the scope of services to include additional right of way close out activities, completion of land transfer to the State, file transfer to Caltrans and increase the total payment of the Agreement.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

CCTA would not be able to contract the County’s right of way services.
