RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-668-5 with Asereth Medical Services, Inc., a corporation, effective November 1, 2011, to amend Contract #26-668-3 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #26-688-5, to increase the payment limit by $24,570, from $238,080 to a new payment limit of $262,650, with no change in the original term of April 1, 2011 through March 31, 2012.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. No rate increase.

BACKGROUND:

On April 5, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-688-3 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #26-668-4), with Asereth Medical Services, Inc. for the period from April 1, 2011 through March 31, 2012, for the provision of temporary pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to provide coverage during peak loads, temporary absences and emergency situations.  




BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
  
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-668-5 will allow the Contractor to provide additional hours of temporary pharmacist services, through March 31, 2012.  

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Plan would not have adequate pharmacist coverage for the Divisions.
