RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chair-Board of Supervisors, or designee, to execute a contract with Aristotle Inc., in an amount not to exceed $110,000 for constituent services application software replacement for the period January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2012.

FISCAL IMPACT:

$110,000. 100% General Fund.

BACKGROUND:

Aristotle Constituent Services version 4.1 has been in use by the Board of Supervisors since 1997. The product was written in FoxPro database software, a product which has been obsolete since March of 2007. Aristotle is at present planning to discontinue support in 2012, and no further development is planned. We are attempting to purchase Aristotle’s follow-on product, Complete Gov, which will fill the needed void.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
An RFP was conducted in search of an alternate solution. However, only one response was received and was not found to meet our requirements.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Board of Supervisors would have to find a different solution to tracking constituent information.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

No impact.
