RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department to execute a Purchase Order with CompuCom Systems, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $1,900,000 for the purchase of Microsoft licenses for the Health Services Department for a period of three years.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% Enterprise Fund I.

BACKGROUND:

The Contra Costa County Health Services Department presently purchases Microsoft licenses individually and without the ability to upgrade them. This Purchase Order will allow the Health Services Department to purchase the license at a lower total cost of ownership and will allow the ability to keep the licenses to current versions.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, CCHS will continue to purchase software licenses at a higher cost.
