RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21013 to establish the classification of Risk Management Training Coordinator-Project (AJH1) (unrepresented) position, allocate it to the salary schedule at salary plan and grade C8H 0201 ($11,266) and add one (1) Risk Management Training Coordinator-Project in the Risk Management Division of the County Administrator's Office.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This action is projected to result in annual salary costs of $117,496 and will be charged 100% to the County Self-Insurance Internal Service Funds.

BACKGROUND:

Risk Management had a contractor for loss control program support services. When the contractor retired, the County was left without a structured training program. The Risk Management Training Coordinator will report to the Risk Manager on a year-to-year basis until a complete County training program is in place. Duties include development and implementation of specialized online and classroom training and team building programs, supervising training staff and instructors, performing related work as required, as well as customized training for department and management of the Target Safety online training program. The Training Coordinator will assist in monitoring training consistency throughout the County especially for new managers, supervisors and line staff who need specialized ongoing training. Specialized training is needed as a proactive approach to loss prevention.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Potential of increased legal and indemnity costs to County.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

No impact.
