BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

On January 27, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #24–385–33 with Anka Behavioral Health, Incorporated, for the period from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009, which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2009, for the provision of mental health outreach services for the homeless mentally ill.
