RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Patricia Tanquary), to execute, on behalf of the County, Standard Agreement (Amendment) #29-784-2 (State #03-75796, A05) with the State of California, Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), effective December 30, 2009, to amend Standard Agreement #29-784 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #29-784-1), to make technical adjustments to the Agreement with no change in the original payment limit, payable to the County in an amount not to exceed $1,594,000 and to extend the term from December 31, 2009 through December 31, 2010.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment will extend the term of the Agreement for the Local Initiative Program services that are not approved for Federal funding. No County funds are required.

BACKGROUND:

Since 2003, through the Local Initiative Program, the State of California has given the Health Plan funds necessary to provide health care service to its eligible Medi-Cal recipients within the scope of Medi-Cal benefits.

Agreement #29-784 (as amended by #29-784-1), as approved by the Board of Supervisors on August 15, 2006, for State supported services, through December 31, 2009.   
  
Approval of Standard Amendment (Agreement) #29-784-2 will make technical adjustments to the Agreement and extend the related services to Contra Costa Health Plan members and County recipients through December 31, 2010.
