The Health Services Department has been contracting with Crestwood Behavioral Health, Inc., since September 2006 to provide residential care and mental health services to adults. This contract meets the social needs of the County’s population by providing a multi-disciplinary treatment program to adults who need active psychiatric treatment, including medication support and individual and group therapy services, as an alternative to hospitalization at a State Hospital.
On January 18, 2022, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24-086-145(19) with Crestwood Behavioral Health, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $95,000, to provide adult residential care and mental health services for the period from January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022.
Approval of Contract Amendment #24-086-145(20) will allow the contractor to provide additional services through December 31, 2022. This amendment request to the Board was delayed due to an unanticipated increase in the demand for beds and placement of clients. In late September 2022 it became apparent that there would not be sufficient funds to accommodate the number of beds needed during the term of the contract.
If this amendment is not approved, additional mental health clients will not receive the inpatient psychiatric treatment they need from this contractor and may require hospitalization at a State Hospital.
