RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 26060 to reassign vacant Accountant III (SATA) position #9770, at salary plan and grade ZB5 - 1576 ($6,774 - $8,233), from the Hospital and Health Centers Division (Dept. 0540) General Accounting unit (Org 6567) to the Public Health Division (Dept. 0450) Administration and Management unit (Org 5761) in the Health Services Department. (Represented)

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this request has an annual cost shift of approximately $168,140 with $38,315 in pension cost included, from Hospital Enterprise Fund I (Dept 0540, Org 6567) to the Public Healt Division (Dept 0450, Org 5761), and will be fully funded by the new Future of Public Health (FOPH) Grant.









BACKGROUND:

The Public Health Division is requesting to reassign one vacant Accountant III position from the Hospital Enterprise Division's General Accounting to the Public Health Administration & Management. Public Health has received multiple new grants due to the expansion and future development of Public Health programs. This position will be responsible for supporting various programs in Public Health, providing lead direction to subordinate staff, reviewing and analyzing financial transactions, balancing for accuracy, and developing, maintaining and enhancing accounting systems, policies and procedures.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this request is not approved, Public Health will not have sufficient staff to maintain effective operations.
