RECOMMENDATION(S):

Accept the Canvass of Votes for the October 18, 2022 Election for a Police Services Measure in the following County Service Area:

P-6, Zone 506, Supervisorial District 3 - Unincorporated area of Discovery Bay area - DID PASS

FISCAL IMPACT:

All tax proceeds will accrue to the new County Service Area.

BACKGROUND:

For the election results, see the attached Certificate of the County Clerk, providing results of the October 18, 2022 Election for the County Service Area, where each landowner of the affected area was allowed one vote for each acre or portion thereof:

P-6 Zone 506, Resolution No. 2022/255

Resolution so as to authorize a special tax on said property, located in unincorporated area in Discovery Bay, to maintain present level of police protection services and provide additional funding for increased police protection services.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If the Board of Supervisors does not accept the Canvass of Votes, Zone 506 will not be formed.
