Referral History:
At the September 25, 2017, meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee on Sustainability, the Committee received an update on the status of permitting for commercial solar facilities. The Committee asked for another update at its next meeting.
Referral Update:
The Contra Costa County Planning Commission at its November 8, 2017, meeting considered proposed amendments to the General Plan and Ordinance Code to allow commercial/distribution scale solar energy projects in certain commercial and industrial areas. The report and recommendation that the Planning Commission considered are attached.

This report for the Ad Hoc Committee on Sustainability was prepared before the Planning Commission meeting. Assuming the staff recommendation was adopted, the issue will move to the Board of Supervisors for consideration.

RECEIVE update on amendments to General Plan and zoning code that would allow commercial solar energy facilities in the General Commercial, Light Industrial, and Heavy Industrial zoning districts after issuance of a Land Use Permit.
