RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with the California Department of Community Services and Development to increase payment to the County by $556,435 to the new payment limit of an amount not to exceed $4,315,658 for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, and extend the term end date from December 31, 2017 to March 31, 2018.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This contract amendment will increase revenue by $556,435 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) LIHEAP funding as a pass through from the State Department of Community Services and Development (CSD). On October 1, 2017, CSD received the final 2017 Notice of Award from DHHS, which resulted in the increase in the County's 2017 LIHEAP contract #17B-3005. No County match is required. The total contract amount of $4,315,658 includes $2,317,392 of funds that are paid directly to County clients by the State.
