RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Resolution No. 2022/339 proclaiming October 2022 as Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

BACKGROUND:

This proclamation encourages all Contra Costa County Agencies and Departments to recognize October as National Cybersecurity Awareness Month.   
  

Held every October, National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM) is a collaborative effort between government and industry to ensure every individual has the resources they need to stay safe and secure online, while increasing the resilience of the Nation against cyber threats.

National Cybersecurity Awareness Month emphasizes personal accountability and stresses the importance of taking proactive steps to enhance cybersecurity at home and in the workplace. It also supports the Department’s strategic vision for educating, empowering, and ensuring information security is in the hands of every County employee.
