RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to execute a non-financial contract with Contra Costa Family Justice Alliance with mutual indemnification language for the period January 01, 2020 through December 31, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This is a non-financial contract.

BACKGROUND:

The purpose of this contract is for the Employment and Human Services Department to participate as part of a multidisciplinary team with the Contra Costa Family Justice Alliance and its community partners to facilitate assistance and support to victims of trauma resulting from interpersonal violence. The Employment and Human Services Department will provide application assistance and case management support to Contra Costa Familiy Justice Alliance families in need of public assistance programs including CalWORKs, Welfare-to-Work, CalFresh and Medi-Cal.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Without approval, County will not be able to provide immediate on-site support to victims of trauma and violence who are in need of food, medical, housing and cash assistance.
