RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute, on behalf of the Health Services Director, a purchase order with Covidien Sales LLC, in an amount not to exceed $2,750,000 for the purchase of instruments, sutures, and supplies for the Operating Room at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC), for the period from September 1, 2020 through August 31, 2024.

FISCAL IMPACT:

If approved, the requested purchase order will be funded 100% by the Hospital Enterprise Fund I.

BACKGROUND:

Covidien Sales LLC provides instruments, sutures, and supplies for the Surgical Unit to perform procedures and operations at CCRMC. Covidien Sales LLC has been a reliable source of supplies for the Operating Room providing a fast and steady replenishment of supplies.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this purchase order is not approved CCRMC will not be able to take care of the surgical needs of patients at CCRMC until a new source of supplies and instruments can be found.
