RECOMMENDATION(S):

ACCEPT a report from the Fire Chief providing a status summary for ongoing Fire District activities and initiatives.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:

At the request of the Contra Costa County Fire Board of Directors, the Fire Chief is providing a report on the status and progress of the various District initiatives.

CLERK'S ADDENDUM

In addition to the items in the report, the Fire Chief announced that Operation Pink Wheels is underway. The pink fire engine is a new community oriented program through a collaboration with labor partners at Local 1230. Project Pink Wheels was designed as a community outreach vehicle for community fund raisers, parades, transporting of individuals with cancer to their first as well as their last day of cancer treatment and it's open to special requests. The engine is fully operational and can be deployed to any fire if needed.
