Referral History:

On July 28, 2014, the Treasurer-Tax Collector's Office presented a proposal to the Finance Committee that County Departments be permitted to enter into agreements with third-arty services providers to charge and collect the bank card service fees associated with electronic payments, as authorized by the Visa Government and Higher Education Program, rather than continue to treat such fees as a departmental expense. The Finance Committee referred the proposal to the Board of Supervisors for consideration, and the Board approved it on August 5, 2014, as Resolution No. 2014/270.

The Finance Committee requested that a report on the implementation and experiences of the new policy be provided to the Finance Committee in 2019.
