RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve clarification of Board action of June 20, 2017 (C.103), which authorized the Health Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with the City of Richmond for its Recreation and Parks Department, a political subdivision of the State of California, to provide congregate meal services for County’s Senior Nutrition Program for the period from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018 and an automatic extension through September 30, 2018, to reflect the contractor's correct name as the City of Richmond for its Community Services Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Should the agency receive any voluntary contributions from participating seniors, it will pay the County any remaining funds after it has paid its authorized expenses. No County match is required.

BACKGROUND:

On June 20, 2017, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #28-541-24 with the City of Richmond for its Recreation and Parks Department, for the provision of congregate meal services for the County’s Senior Nutrition Program for the period from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018, which includes a three-month automatic extension through September 30, 2018. This contract includes modifications to County’s standard indemnification and confidentiality clauses.

The purpose of this Board Order is to change the agency name to read City of Richmond for its Community Services Department.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, senior citizens who depend on the County’s Senior Nutrition Program will not receive meals at the contractor’s facility.
