FISCAL IMPACT:
$25,000 will be received from the Central Contra Costa Solid Waste Authority for enhanced roadside illegal dumping pickup from unincorporated County roads within the CCCSWA service area upon execution of the Indemnification Agreement.
BACKGROUND:
The County is a member entity of the Central Contra Costa Solid Waste Authority (CCCSWA) which was created for limited and specific purposes related to solid waste, hauling, recycling, reduction and related statutory compliance. As a result of the collection and processing of recyclables, the CCCSWA accumulated reserves in an account known as the Diversion Incentive Fund (DIF).
The CCCSWA requires the indemnification agreement be approved by the Board of Supervisors as a condition of receiving DIF monies to provide enhanced roadside illegal dumping pickup from unincorporated County roads within the CCCSWA service area.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Enhanced roadside pickups will not happen.
