RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, on behalf of the Zero Tolerance for Domestic Violence Initiative, to apply for and accept grant funding in an amount not to exceed $784,787 from the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Violence Against Women, for the Domestic Violence Homicide Prevention Demonstration Initiative for the period October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2018.

County to receive an amount not to exceed $784,787. (100% Federal) (No County match)
BACKGROUND:
The Office of Violence Against Women, Domestic Violence Homicide Prevention (DVHP) Demonstration Initiative was created to build the capacity of local jurisdictions to improve identification of and services for domestic violence victims who are at risk for lethality while also improving the monitoring of high risk offenders. With this funding, Contra Costa County will implement a Lethality Assessment Program and participate in the DVHP Demonstration Initiative and its continued evaluation.
