The purpose of this agreement is to provide medical students at the University of California, Davis with the opportunity to integrate academic knowledge with application skills at progressively higher levels of performance requirements and responsibility. Supervised field experience for students is considered to be an integral part of both educational and professional preparation. As a teaching hospital, Contra Costa Regional Medical Center can provide the requisite field education, while at the same time, taking advantage of the students' services to patients.
On December 6, 2000, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-396 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-396-1, #26-396-2 and #26-396-3) with The Regents of the University of California, on behalf of University of California, Davis to provide training and clinical experience in the field of family practice for medical students, resident physicians and fellows, family nurse practitioner students, and physician assistant students who are enrolled at the University of California Davis, for the period from July 1, 2000 through June 30, 2016, including mutual indemnification.
Approval of Affiliation Agreement #26-396-4 (#00-01128A), will allow County to continue providing training and clinical experience for students who are enrolled with the Regents of the University of California, on behalf of University of California, Davis, through June 30, 2021.
