RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21967 to add one (1) Deputy County Counsel - Standard Exempt (2ET2) (unrepresented) position at salary plan and grade B8B 2097 ($9,698 - $11,528) and cancel one (1) Deputy County Counsel -Advanced (2ETK) (unrepresented) vacant position No. 11093 at salary plan and grade B8B 2297 ($11,822 - $13,375) in the Office of the County Counsel.

FISCAL IMPACT:

If approved, this action will result in an annual savings of approximately $33,876.

BACKGROUND:

The purpose of this action is to enable the Office of the County Counsel to hire an attorney who has the specialized training and/or expertise in specified areas of civil law, so that the department can efficiently and effectively fulfill the County’s legal needs.




CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Office of County Counsel will have difficulty recruiting and hiring an attorney which would be detrimental to the County's clients.
