RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a Purchase Order with Nexus Inc., in the amount of $141,728 for purchase of annual hardware maintenance support of the Avamar data backup system for the period from June 25, 2015 through June 24, 2016.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% funding is included in the Hospital Enterprise Fund I budget.
BACKGROUND:
Contra Costa Health Services utilizes the EMC Avamar system for backing up data for the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. This Purchase Order is for the renewal of the maintenance for this data backup system.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Failure to renew maintenance support would directly impact patient care.
