RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and Authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a Purchase Order with General Electric Healthcare Inc., in the amount of $268,065 to purchase a mammogram machine for the new Antioch Health Center.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% funding is included in Hospital Enterprise Fund I Budget.

BACKGROUND:

General Electric Healthcare, Inc. has provided the county with equipment for many years. Their equipment has the best prices and warranties. This mammogram machine for the new Antioch Health Center will be standardized with the equipment Health Services already owns.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this Purchase Order is not approved, the Diagnostic Imaging/Nuclear Medicine Department will not be able to provide mammograms at the Antioch Health Center.
