RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent on behalf of the Health Services Department, to execute a Purchase Order with Nexus Inc., in the amount not to exceed $352,253 for purchase of annual hardware maintenance support of the VMAX data storage system for the period from May 3, 2015 through June 30, 2016.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% funding is included in the Hospital Enterprise Fund I budget.

BACKGROUND:

Contra Costa Health Services utilizes the EMC VMAX system for storage of the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system data. This Purchase Order is for the renewal of the maintenance for this data storage system.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Failure to renew maintenance support would directly impact patient care.
