RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #22-939-24 with Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, a non-profit corporation, effective August 1, 2015, to amend Contract #22-939-22, to increase the payment limit by $50,300, from $141,609 to a new payment limit of $191,909, with no change in the original term of March 1, 2015 through February 29, 2016.  
  

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment is funded 100% Ryan White HIV Treatment Modernization Act. (No Rate increase)  
  

BACKGROUND:

In April, 2015, the County Administrator approved and Purchasing Manager executed Contract #22-939-22 (as amended by Contract Amendment #22-939-23) with Food Bank of Contra Costa County for the period from March 1, 2015 through February 29, 2016, for the coordination of food services for County residents diagnosed with HIV and their families.  
  
Approval of Contract #22-939-24 will allow the Contractor to provide additional coordination of food services to County residents with HIV, through February 29, 2016.  
  

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, Contractor will not be able to provide sufficient protein and fresh produce to the existing caseload of County residents who are diagnosed with HIV.
