RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #26-977-15 with Diablo Valley Oncology and Hematology Medical Group, a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $360,000 to provide urology services for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers for the period of November 1, 2015 through October 31, 2018.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% Hospital Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On January 15, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-977-13 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-977-14) with Diablo Valley Oncology and Hematology for the period from November 1, 2012 through October 31, 2015, to provide urology services for patients at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC) including, but not limited to, clinic coverage, consultation, training, on-call, ultra sound, evaluation and management services, and medical and/or surgical procedures.

Approval of Contract #26-977-15 will allow Contractor to continue to provide urology services at CCRMC including, but not limited to, clinic coverage, consultation, training, on-call, ultra sound, evaluation and management services, and medical and/or surgical procedures through October 31, 2018.  

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, County’s clients will not have access to Contractor’s urology services, which may result in a reduction in overall levels of service to the community.
