RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-829-2 with Ronald M. Sato, M.D., an individual, in an amount not to exceed $130,000, to provide plastic and reconstructive surgery services for Contra Costa Health Plan members for the period from March 1, 2015 through February 28, 2017.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% Contra Costa Health Plan Enterprise Fund II. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

The Health Plan has an obligation to provide certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County.

In April 2013, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #27-829-1 with Ronald M. Sato, M.D. for the period from March 1, 2013 through February 28, 2015, to provide plastic and reconstructive surgery services, for Contra Costa Health Plan members.

Approval of Contract #27-829-2 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide plastic and reconstructive surgery services through February 28, 2017.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
