RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21762 to increase the hours of permanent part-time Certified Nursing Assistant (VTWA) position #9740 from 32/40 to 40/40 at salary level QB5-0906 ($2,730 - $3,318), in the Health Services Department, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between the County and Public Employees Union, Local One.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $11,705, with approximate pension cost of $2,827 included. The cost for the increased hours of this Certified Nursing Assistant position will be 100% funded by Federally Qualified Health Care revenue.

BACKGROUND:

The Health Services Department is requesting to increase the hours of permanent part-time Certified Nursing Assistant (VTWA) position #9740 from 32/40 to 40/40 as provided by the memorandum of understanding between the County and Public Employees Union, Local One. The incumbent has been working the increased hours in the past six months and the Department has determined there is an ongoing need for these increased hours in order to maintain patient care services in the Emergency Department of Contra Costa Regional Medical Center.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved, there will not be enough staff hours to meet the patient care needs at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center.
