RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21761 to increase the hours of one permanent part-time Occupational Therapist II (V5VH) position #8327 from 22/40 to 32/40, at salary range QT5-1746 ($6,270-$7,622), in the Health Services Department, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between the County and Public Employees Union, Local One.   

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action will have an annual cost of approximately $28,580 which includes annual pension costs of $7,474. The cost for the Occupational Therapist II position will be 100% funded by Enterprise Fund I.

BACKGROUND:

The Health Services Department is requesting to increase the hours of permanent Occupational Therapist ll (V5VH) position #8327 from 22/40 to 32/40 as provided by the memorandum of understanding between the County and Public Employees Union, Local One. The incumbent has worked the increased hours over the past six months and the Department has determined there is an outstanding need for these increased hours in order to maintain patient care in the Rehabilitation Therapy unit.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this action is not approved, the Department will not have enough staff hours to meet the patient care needs in the Rehabilitation Therapy unit.
