RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPOINT C. Joseph Doherty to the Walnut Creek Local Committee Seat on the Advisory Council on Aging, as recommended by the Employment and Human Services Director.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None

BACKGROUND:

Mr. Doherty's term will end September 2017. His address is 2251 Gladwin Drive, Walnut Creek, CA 94598. Mr. Doherty filled the seat vacated by Mr. Fritz Brunner whose resignation was approved by the Board on April 14, 2015.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

The Advisory Council on Aging provides a means for countywide planning, cooperation and coordination for individuals and groups interested in improving and developing services and opportunities for the older residents of the County. The Council provides leadership and advocacy on behalf of older persons and serves as a channel of communication and information on aging.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Advisory Council on Aging may not be able to conduct routine business,
