RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute, on behalf of the Health Services Director, a Purchase Order with Agiliti Health, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $1,000,000, for the rental of medical devices and equipment for the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center (CCRMC) for the period from January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020.

FISCAL IMPACT:

100% funding is included in the Hospital Enterprise Fund I budget.

BACKGROUND:

The CCRMC rents hospital beds, infusion pumps, and other medical equipment and devices from this vendor. Agiliti Health, Inc., has provided competitive pricing through the Vizient Group Purchasing Contract, and it has proven more cost effective to rent than to purchase some medical equipment.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this Purchase Order is not approved, CCRMC will not have enough beds and other equipment to care for its patients. It will not be cost effective to lose our main supplier for those materials and be forced to purchase them outright from a different vendor.
