RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #74-085-13 with BAS Resources, Inc. (DBA - BAS Healthcare), a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $140,000, to provide psychiatric recruitment services for the Behavioral Health Services Division/Mental Health Psychiatric Program, including, but not limited to: recruiting, screening and interviewing qualified psychiatrists who the County may hire for permanent placement for the period from January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014.

This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment. (Rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On January 8, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-085-12 with BAS Resources, Inc. (DBA BAS Healthcare), for the period from January 1, 2013 through December 31, 2013 for the provision of psychiatric recruitment services for the Behavioral Health Services Division/Mental Health Psychiatric Program, including, but not limited to: recruiting, screening and interviewing qualified psychiatrists who the County may hire for permanent placement.  
  
Approval of Contract #74-085-13 will allow Contractor to continue providing services through December 31, 2014, including changes to County’s Standard General Conditions, paragraph 19 (Insurance) language.  

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, County will not have access to Contractor’s psychiatrist recruitment services.
