RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-689-4 with East Bay Medical Oncology/Hematology Medical Associates, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $3,000,000, to provide Hematology/Oncology services for the period from December 1, 2013 through November 30, 2015.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan member premiums. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

On December 6, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-689-3 with East Bay Medical Oncology/Hematology Medical Associates, Inc. for the provision of professional Hematology/Oncology services, for the period from December 1, 2011 through November 30, 2013.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #27-689-4 will allow Contractor to continue providing professional Hematology/Oncology services through November 30, 2015.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
