RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-391-23 with Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc., a corporation, effective October 9, 2013, to amend Contract #26-391-22 to modify the rate sheet, with no change in the payment limit of $1,200,000 or original term of Contract from April 1, 2013 through March 31, 2014.  

FISCAL IMPACT:

This amendment is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)  

BACKGROUND:

On May 14, 2013, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-391-22 with Maxim Healthcare Services, Inc., for the provision of temporary registry services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers (CCRMC), for the period from April 1, 2013 through March 31, 2014.

Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-391-23 will allow the Contractor to modify the rate sheet to add two new classifications, a Remote ICD-9 and Remote ICD-10/Dual coding personnel, for continuation of temporary registry services through March 31, 2014.  

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this amendment is not approved, County patients will not have access to Contractor’s professional services, which may result in a reduction in the overall levels of services to the community.
