RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Traffic Resolution No. 2014/4400 to establish speed limits on Reliez Valley Road (Road No. 3551 and 3554), and RESCIND Traffic Resolution No. 1989/3319, as recommended by the Public Works Director, Martinez and Lafayette areas.

FISCAL IMPACT:

No fiscal impact.

BACKGROUND:

The establishment of speed limits on Reliez Valley Road is necessary to allow local authorities the ability to enforce the speed limit.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Unable to use local authorities’ power to enforce the California Vehicle Code.
