RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #24-718 with Recovery Innovations, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $516,029 to provide a range of community-based mental health support services to County’s adult mental health clients, to include operating Wellness Recovery Centers in each region of the County, and providing support and stipends for clients who attend Mental Health Service Provider Individualized Recovery Intensive Training, for the period from January 1, 2014 through June 30, 2014.   

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 68% by State MHSA (Prop 63) and 32% Mental Health Realignment Services.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:






BACKGROUND:

This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing services to mentally ill adults at three Wellness and Recovery Centers, to include peer and family support, workshops, education classes and community-based activities. The Contractor will also provide support services and stipends to clients who attend Mental Health Service Provider Individualized Recovery Intensive Training, a course that prepares individuals to work as peer providers.  

Under Contract #24-718, the Contractor will provide community-based mental health support services to County’s adult mental health clients, including operating the Wellness Recovery Centers in each region of the County, and provide support and stipends for clients who attend Mental Health Service Provider Individualized Recovery Intensive Training, through June 30, 2014.   

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: (CONT'D)
If this contract is not approved, the County’s adult mental health clients will have reduced levels of care and no access to Wellness and Recovery Centers, which provide daily support and services to help maintain wellness.
