RECOMMENDATION(S):

Adopt Position Adjustment Resolution No. 21407 to add one Health Services Planner Evaluator - B position (VCXD) at salary level ZB2 1323 ($3967.34- 6187.69) in the Health Services Department.

FISCAL IMPACT:

Upon approval, this action will result in an anual cost of approximately $122,284, includung pension costs of $26,350, and will be funded by money from Housing and Urban Development.

BACKGROUND:

This position is being requested for the Behavioral Health Division and will be responsible for analyzing aggregate data within the Homeless Management information System (HMIS) as required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The HMIS purpose is to facilitate a more effective collection and sharing of information between agencies, produce an unduplicated count of homeless persons, understand patterns of service use, and measure the effectiveness of homeless programs in Contra Costa County. By effectively evaluating the data, the County can gain a better understanding of our homeless population and be better able to target resources and coordinate services .


CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this item is not approved, the Behavioral Health Division will not have adequate staff to perform functions mandated by the state.
