RECOMMENDATION(S):

REFER the attached list of issues to the Transportation, Water and Infrastructure Committee for action in 2014, as recommended by the Committee.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None. The cost to staff this Committee is included in the budget of the Department of Conservation and Development. Cost for Committee reports are borne by the department or agency responsible for addressing the referral item.

BACKGROUND:

Each year the Board of Supervisors is asked to approve a list of issues to be referred to its standing committees. The attached list of issue referrals was reviewed and approved by the Transportation, Water and Infrastructure Committee at its December 5 meeting for recommendation to the full Board.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

The changes from the 2013 list are as follows:
  • Added "expenditure plan" to Measure WW implementation activities under county park issues to reflect anticipated next steps.
  • Added "Contra Costa County Mobility Management Plan" to reflect a study sponsored by the Central Contra Costa County Transit Authority (County Connection) that may be moving into an implementation phase.
  • "Monitor Pacheco Transit Hub" has been deleted as the project is now under construction.

The Board is asked to approve this list of referrals to the Committee for 2014. If any new issues arise that are not included on the attached referral list, the new issue will be brought to the Board of Supervisors for a referral before the Committee discusses it.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Transportation, Water and Infrastructure Committee will not have a Board-approved list of issues to address.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

None.
