RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-812-1 with Taraneh Mostaghasi, M.D., Inc., in an amount not to exceed $400,000, to provide professional pediatric primary care services for the Contra Costa Health Plan for the period from September 1, 2012 through August 31, 2014.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan (Health Plan) member premiums. Costs depend upon utilization. (No rate increase)

BACKGROUND:

The Health Plan has an obligation to provide certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County. In October 2010, the County Administrator approved and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #27-812 with Taraneh Mostaghasi, M.D., Inc., for the period from September 1, 2010 through August 31, 2012, to provide pediatric primary care services. Approval of Contract #27-812-1 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide professional primary care services through August 31, 2014.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, certain specialized professional health care services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan membership contracts with the County will not be provided.
