RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #74-432-1 with Vincent S. Perez, M.D., a self-employed individual, in an amount not to exceed $284,200, to provide outpatient psychiatric services to adult clients, for the period from December 1, 2012 through November 30, 2013.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment. (Rate Increase)

BACKGROUND:

On November 1, 2011, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74-432 with Vincent S. Perez, M.D, for the period from December 1, 2011 through November 30, 2012 for the provision of outpatient psychiatric services in West Contra Costa County.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

Approval of Contract #74-432-1 will allow Contractor to continue to provide services in Central County, including acting as lead Psychiatrist through November 30, 2013.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, services at Central County Clinics will be reduced for adult clients requiring outpatient mental health services.
