RECOMMENDATION(S):

CORRECT the term expiration dates for seats on the Emergency Medical Care Committee to terms ending September 30, 2014.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None.

BACKGROUND:

The Emergency Medical Care Committee is a multidisciplinary group of Health Care and Safety providers appointed by the County Board of Supervisors to provide advice and recommendations on EMS-related matters to the Board, Health Services Director and its EMS Agency. Membership consists of consumer representatives and representatives of EMS-related organizations and groups.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
The Emergency Medical Care Committee was originally established with two year terms beginning October 1, 1998. Therefore, all terms should expire on September 30 of even years.

On December 12th, 2012 the Board of Supervisors approved Item C.40 which appointed nineteen members to two year terms. The term expiration date was mistakenly listed as November 14, 2014. The correct term expiration date is September 30, 2014. While reviewing the Maddy Book listing of seats and expiration dates for this committee, it was determined that there are additional seats with incorrect termination dates. The attached table lists the changes necessary.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The term expiration date will be incorrect.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

None.
