RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to accept donations in the amount of $9,302 from ESSAI Inc. and $9,500 from David A. Breach, for a total of $18,802, to purchase additional weapons and ammunition for the Office of the Sheriff SWAT team.

FISCAL IMPACT:

$18,802. 100% Restricted Donations.  

BACKGROUND:

Each year the Office of the Sheriff receives donations from individuals and various community organizations to help fund programs throughout the Sheriff's Office. Administrative Bulletin 117.6 requires County departments receiving donations in excess of $10,000 to request approval from the Board of Supervisors prior to formal receipt.  
  

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Today's action is requesting approval to accept $18,802 donated by ESSAI, Inc. ($9,302) and Mr. David Breach ($9,500) to purchase additional safety equipment for the Office of the Sheriff SWAT team.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Sheriff-Coroner will be unable to formally accept receipt of the donations.
