RECOMMENDATION(S):

ADOPT Resolution No. 2013/8 to cancel outstanding performance pay steps for the classifications of Assistant County Registrar-Exempt (ALB1) and Assistant County Recorder-Exempt (ALB3) and cancel outstanding performance steps for classification of Assistant County Recorder-Exempt.

FISCAL IMPACT:

These actions were budgeted at the proposed level, so there is no fiscal impact. The costs were funded through new revenue from SB 676 (2009).

BACKGROUND:

On July 31, 2012, the Board authorized the reallocation of several management classifications in the Clerk-Recorder-Elections Department. The new allocations were not intended to have performance steps. Because the performance steps for three of the classifications were not canceled as part of the process, employees were appointed to steps lower than was intended. A new resolution is hereby presented to correct this issue.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

The incumbent in the Assistant County Registrar-Exempt position shall be moved from step 3 to step 5 of the salary range B85-2054.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

Employees will be appointed to steps lower that the intent of the reallocation process.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:

Not applicable.
