SD. 1 PUBLIC COMMENT (3 Minutes/Speaker) |
John Fitzgerald, spoke on the various chemicals, including RoundUp(Tm) being sprayed in the delta and his concerns that local residents are not aware of the timing of the spraying, and the difficulty in determining what specific chemicals are contained in the pesticides in use. He also mentioned that the state of Michigan had found a method to recycle the invasive water hyacinth into a biofuel rather than using eradication procedures;
Rosalind Peterson, resident of Redwood Valley, noted she has filed suit against the Department of Boating and Waterways and spoke further on the unknown effects on people of the pesticides used in eradication of invasive species and requested a hearing be held on the matter;
Ralph Hoffman spoke the power of forgiveness and love as preached by Jesus Christ and Dr. Martin Luther King.
