RECOMMENDATION(S):

Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #23-507 with One Touch Global Technologies, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $35,000, to provide consultation and technical assistant with regard to project analysis and implementation for the EPIC project at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers, for the period from December 1, 2011, through November 30, 2012.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This Contract is funded 100% by Medicare & Medicaid Electronic Health Records Incentive Program of the American Recovery & Reimbursement Act (ARRA).


BACKGROUND:

Under Contract #23-507, Contractor will provide assistance to the Departments Information Systems Director with regard to project analysis and implementation for the EPIC project at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers, including, but not limited to operational improvement, project management, support, and assessment through November 30, 2012. This contract includes modifications to County Standard General Conditions language. This board order is to inform the Board of Supervisors that this service Contract #23-507 requires the Board’s approval because of a deviation for the Standard County Indemnification Clause and the General Conditions.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

If this contract is not approved, the Department will not meet the deadline scheduled in June of 2012 to maximum the advantage of the technologies available through the Epic Project.
