RECOMMENDATION(S):

APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Fire Chief-Crockett Carquinez Fire Protection District, or designee, to purchase, for the amount of $11,000, a 2001 Ford F-150 command-type vehicle (County Inventory Control Asset # 129716) from the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.

FISCAL IMPACT:

$11,000, 100% Crockett-Carquinez Fire Protection District operational budget.

BACKGROUND:

The Crockett-Carquinez Fire Protection District has a need for a command-type vehicle. The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District has a spare vehicle in its fleet of light vehicles that meets the needs of the Crockett-Carquinez Fire Protection District. The purchase of this vehicle fits the need of the Crockett-Carquinez Fire District, without the cost of purchasing a new vehicle.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The Crockett-Carquinez Fire District would have to purchase a new command vehicle to fill its operational needs for a potentially higher price.
