APPOINT the following individual to the Appointee 2 seat on the Bethel Island Municipal Advisory Council to term expiring December 31, 2012:

FISCAL IMPACT:

None.  

BACKGROUND:

Established on May 3, 1994 by Resolution No. 94/316, the purpose of the Bethel Island Municpal Advisory Council is advise the Board of Supervisors on land use and planning matters affecting the community of Bethel Island. They may represent the Bethel Island community before the Board of Supervisors, the East County Regional Planning Commission and the Zoning Administrator on such issues as land use, planning and zoning. The Council may also represent the Bethel Island Community before the Local Agency Formation Commission no proposed boundary changes affecting the community. The Council may advise the Board on services which are may be provided to the Bethel Island Community by Contra Costa County or other local governmental agencies.  
  
Bethel Island Municpal Advisory Council is comprised of five members who are residents of the Bethel Island community, living in the boundaries as stated in Resolution No. 2009/382   
  
The Appointee 2 seat was vacated on September 13, 2011. Applications were accepted and the recommendation to appoint the above individual was then determined.  

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The seat will remain vacant.
