RECOMMENDATION(S):

ACCEPT the recommendations from the Family and Human Services Committee to carry forward twenty referrals from the 2011 Family and Human Services Committee to the 2012 Committee.

BACKGROUND:

I. ACKNOWLEDGE that the Board of Supervisors referred three new item to the Family and Human Services Committee (FHS) for their review and consideration during the 2011 calendar year in addition to the referrals carried over from the prior year.

II. ACCEPT the recommendation to carry forward the following twenty referrals from the 2011 Family and Human Services Committee to the 2012 Committee:

BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION(S):  
  
Between January and December 2011, the Board of Supervisors referred three new items to the Family and Human Services Committee (FHS) in addition to referrals carried forward from the 2011 year. The FHS Committee heard twenty-five separate reports on twenty-one different referrals.   
  
Referral #94 - Children's Treatment Center, should be closed. The Committee has been monitoring changes to the services and funding available at the Seneca run facility in Concord since 2007. Due to changes at the State level in the AB3632 program which transferred responsibility for the program to schools and a decline in bed days, the program has now been closed.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

None
