RECOMMENDATION(S):

ACCEPT annual report on the schools identified in the Williams Settlement from the Contra Costa Office of Education as required by California Education Code section 1240(c)(2)(B), as recommended by the County Administrator.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None. Report only.

BACKGROUND:

Attached is the 2011-12 annual report on schools in Contra Costa County identified inthe Williams Settlement. The Contra Costa County Office of Education collected documentation from 63 schools representing six school districts: Antioch Unified School District, Brentwood Union School District, Liberty Union High School District, Mt. Diablo Unified School District, Pittsburg Unified School District, and West Contra Costa Unified School District.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

California Education Code section 1240(c)(2)(B) requires that the report be submitted to the Board of Supervisors.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:

The County will not be in compliance with the settlement agreement.
